Lace lace-ups

nicholas kirkwood boots

I still have a few Thailand post planned, not too much going on in my life here in London at the moment. There was not a day where the temperature would have dropped under 30 degrees, but I insisted on wearing my new Nicholas Kirkwood boots I won in a sample sale just before Christmas. From the hundreds of pairs I was clinging on to I allowed myself only one pair, and these where the ones that felt right for the moment. I would much rather wear them with something more city-like here in London, but they deserved a more proper introduction than to just to be photographed on my desk. Super tricky to get on, semi uncomfortable on and impossible to get off. But ah they look PERFECT.

I finally arrived back to London late last night. Truth is although I've lived the peaceful getaway life through the pictures on my blog, I actually spent most of my days bed-bound with a fever after catching a rare sun allergy on the first day. Being on drowsy medicine and banned from the sun is the last thing you would wish for a well deserved vacation but I'm more than happy to be back home and feeling better. I now have a big uni project to push through with a marketing report that is not going to write itself, 2194 unread emails and a brand new house to move in to. But at least I have a body filled with energy and one hell of a new wardrobe. So bring it on 2012, whatever you are planning to throw at me next.

Better cuts

 zara pants

I spotted these pants in Zara's lookbook a few weeks back and had a little heart attack over how adorable the print was... but when they finally arrived to stores I had to face the disappointment of reality as they did not fit me at all. All too loose and awful lenght, I had to leave the store without my dream pants. Until it hit me that I has going to Thailand in a few days, the land that has street taylors located as frequently as we have pret a mangers in London. So with two euros and fifty cents these got transformed into, well I said it already.. my dream pants.

A print party

 zara shirt
market find skirt

In between seasons, I'm in between deciding what I want to wear. The climate change of flying to Thailand might have something to do with it, but it's nice to get a little summer preview. I'm kinda having a hard time layering on anything else than a bikini at the moment but this holiday will, as they all always tend to, be over before you know it. I'm not exactly located anywhere near Africa, but I fell for a local lady selling these African printed skirts. Hard not to get impressed when most I've seen so far is fake bags and angry birds printed everything, everywhere.

I wore it with a shirt I bought from Heathrow airports Zara (!) and a beautiful bag by Laura Vela. No need for me lecture you on print mixing, because leopard print go with everything.

Golden pastels

 vintage kimono
zara shoes

Ah here we go, a little bit of anticipated beach-posing.. how could I not? I revived this beautiful belt on a cold winter day and frankly felt a bit confused how to make it work with all the clothing that had to be worn to survive. But I did the right decision bringing it with me to Thailand, most of my skirts look weirdly naked with out it now. Truly one of those things you don't know how much you really need until it's there, sitting securely on your waist.

Dressed for breakfast

alpha saphir watch

Oh I'm beginning to remember why these holidays are all worth the trouble of getting here. I kinda messed up the routine by sleeping in the sun all day and now counting the hours until breakfast starts. But holidays should not have any schedules, I absolutely enjoy every second of not knowing what day it is.

Yesterday morning I wore a new dress, with it's soft and stretchy nature it is now my more sophisticated version of sweat pants.

Christmas clothes

zara shirt
kurt geiger clutch
lapponia ring

Hope you all had a lovely and peaceful Christmas! This post was of course planned for yesterday but was too tired and caught up all day... why? because I just arrived in Thailand! Although I convinced myself I would not have the time to go, I decided last minute that my marketing report could just as well be done on the beach. One of the best decisions I've ever made. If it works remains to be seen.

But back a few days, this is what I wore on Christmas. I love the overly long checked skirt and weirdly I decided to ad even more print, but he polkadot shirt is so subtle it works together quite nicely I think. Although the clutch has only appeared on my blog once before, it's been a favorite this fall and will be available in yummy sorbet colors for spring.

Sunny pictures from Thailand coming up shortly, in the meantime you can check the posts from last years Thailand trip in the january and december archive if you feel like it.

Preparations

h&m coat
h&m mustard top
gina tricot jeans
vintage belt
zara bag

Some very casual layering on the only sunny day of the month.. My Miista Andee boots have been serving me faithfully, I would say this is as close as I get to a combat boot, the heel looks like it could take a few hits. But hey tonight it's Christmas eve! I now have to run to get my mincemeat pies in the oven..

wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

A beautiful denial

You know what? screw this darkness I say. It's been raining slush for the last month... or weeks, but it sure feels like forever. So instead of complaining about the weather I will attempt to bring back summer, or at least here on the blog. So let's look at a few photos I took for Aqua last summer, I picked out my favorites for a little feature in their lookbook, and of course I was left with an overspill of photos that I can't really explain why I never got around posting. Hope you like them... feels like season and a half late, but whole collection is now available online, some even on sale.

I originally fell in love with the green version, but equally much appreciate the Lopez dress in all other three colous. Worn here with acne heels and martin margiela bracelet.

Sweater like a pet

vintage cardigan
h&m polo
zara bag

Blaa. The weather in Finland has been nothing but dark and depressing, I've actually not managed to get a single photo taken this week, so lets go with a few London posts instead. I'm actually in possess of an embarrassing amount of unposted photos... December might be the time to get them out of the way before a clean new start to 2012.

I might be overly dramatic, at least when it comes to these, taken a few weeks back. Lovely seeing the Finsk x Urban Outfitters wedges action again right? I managed to look almost tall when I wore them as an extension to my leather looking pants.
